On this week's episode of Parenting Roundabout's entertainment-themed Round 2, Catherine and Terri continue watching The Great American Baking Show and turn a wary (and confused) eye on the Golden Globes. Here’s your road map:
00:30 Golden Globes - Despite podcasting about pop culture every week, we found it hard to keep track of the dizzying array of presenters, categories, and nominees chucked at us during this ceremony. Terri mentioned her favorite awards-show opening numbers: Jimmy Fallon at the Emmys in 2010 and Neil Patrick Harris at the Tonys in 2013 (lyrics by our beloved Lin-Manuel Miranda).
15:37 Great American Baking Show - Speaking of confounding, this competition show is pretty half-baked, but we enjoyed Patisserie Week and its cruel crullers anyway. We were sorry to see sweet Jennie go home, though. We’ll be tuning in next week (for one hour? Two? Your guess is as good as ours) to see what the finalists whip up.
