On this week's episode of Parenting Roundabout's entertainment-themed Round 2, Catherine and Terri continue watching The West Wing, plus tee up a new challenge for each other. And Catherine even saw a first-run movie! Here’s your road map:

00:41 Hidden Figures — Catherine and her 11-year-old son both enjoyed this movie, in which the performances by Taraji P. Henson, Octavia Spencer, and Janelle Monae outshone the real-live stars John Glenn saw while orbiting the Earth. Recommended!

07:05 The West Wing — While it may not get credit for being a two-parter, this week’s episode, “The War at Home,” is both a satisfying follow-up to “Bartlet’s Third State of the Union” and a tantalizing lead-in to what’s next.

12:42 Challenge Round — Terri challenged Catherine to watch the Great Performances documentary “In the Heights: Chasing Broadway Dreams,” and — surprise! — Catherine found it as delightful as Terri did (here’s the New York Times review mentioned in the documentary and here on the podcast).

For next week, Catherine challenged Terri to watch the Wes Anderson film Rushmore. We’ll cover that, The West Wing’s “Ellie,” and the book A Man Called Ove. Watch, read, and join us!
